It’s Complicated

Am I being single for too long? Why am I always finding these kind of movies interesting?

Just to recommend another 82 Academy Nominee: It’s Complicated, by Meryl Streep.

Quote a nice one for ya: I have a young wife, but I’m having sex with my old one.

Purely Classic!

How am I going to survive without Internet?

I’m just being ironic to myself with the title there.

I was watching the recording of the 82 Academy Awards. When Sandra said Meryl was a good kisser, and she at the end thanked Meryl as her lover, I for once thought she was a lesbian. By googling I found that she wasn’t. At least there’s no official words for that and she has been married to a male, no official words on whether it’s a marriage of convenience either. So, well.

The Hurt Locker is an unbelievable movie. It’s surely the best motion picture worthy of the name! I watched it the very night after it was awarded, and I didn’t find it that good immediately. But after I couldn’t stop thinking about it, thinking about every scene in the movie, and sank deep in digesting the message delivered: war is like drugs… Excellent masterpiece! Not to mention it’s crafted by a female director. Highly recommended!

It was very moving to just watch those awards winners giving their emotional speech. I watched the awards last year, and that was also very touching. Though I can’t feel what they have been through, I am sure they have put all they got on the performance, and what can be seen on screen will tell us what and how they have done. It must be truly colorful.

It’s been nearly four months since I started to work this job. I felt not very comfortable because I live and work in such a populated environment. Probably the number of people I come across in a week here is more than that I see in a year in Stirling. Zhuhai is becoming as crowded as Guangzhou. In terms of average occupyable space, China is definitely a small country.

How many people out there is unknowable to me. But it’s a terrible thing to hear only a few different voices in such a big crowd. I mean, I have been talking to many different individuals. We chattered, expressed our ideas, exchanged our opinions. But I don’t see many original perspectives. Say among 100 people, 30 are worrying about paying back their house loan, 30 are concerning their marriage while they are only 25 year-old, and 40 are moaning about getting low paid. It’s sad, not to others, but to myself. I feel being dumber. I can’t freshen my mind as often as I used to.

Thanks to Nickie, I got to watch the documentary series about John Lewis from BBC Two. The genre is the kind I like. How interesting it is to see Andy Street tackles the worst recession in history for John Lewis! The marketing campaign part and the Cardiff branch opening part are very mind-sobering. Although JL’s partners were moaning about the recession and getting lower paid, they tried to overcome the worst.

The third episode which is the last one is coming up next Wednesday. That will be talking about JL’s future. But for now, I already read from the news that JL has got their partners a big surprise even 2009 was a miserable year for everybody. The fruit is sweet.

Just to think about those academy awards winners and the management team in John Lewis, how different it is to be in the movie industry and the retail industry, and the high tech industry which I’m in now? One thing is undoubtedly the same – the requirement for innovativeness. Well then, how about to give a fishy stare at the sky for a moment? Or to think fast, browse a bunch of webpages, absorb some new ideas and points of views. Or maybe even to chat, but with whom? Damn it now, I really don’t know how I am going to survive without Internet.

Inkheart, wonderful story, hardly satisfying editing

Inkheartposter

The story is very interesting, I wish I could read characters out of the book.

I enjoyed watching this movie. But I felt the editing sucks. The beginning of the story went too slow, the connections between plots seemed quite abrupt.

btw, SHE is in the movie. We didn’t recognise her until the credit roll at the end.

他就是典型的一个喜剧演员…

我说的人是Simon Pegg。他近几年的好戏有《Shaun of the Dead 僵尸肖恩》,《Hot Fuzz 热血警探》,《How To Lose Friends And Alienate People 如何众叛亲离》,还有上个月才上演的《Star Trek》。

在网上搜索一下这个人的档案,出现的大头照要不是鼠头鼠脑就是痴呆犯傻,反正没一张帅的…

Simon Pegg

<X-Men Origin: Wolverine> WORKPRINT version leaked!!!!

Wolverine_article_story_main

Astonishingly discovered the long-waited film’s workprint version, many organisations in film industry exploded. The film was scheduled to release on May 1 with high expectation. But with this news breaking out, FOX is definitely in pain now.

"Last night, a stolen, incomplete and early version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine was posted illegally on a website. It was without many effects, had missing and unedited scenes and temporary sound and music. We immediately contacted the appropriate legal authorities and had it removed. We forensically mark our content so we can identify sources that make it available or download it. The source of the initial leak and any subsequent postings will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law – the courts have handed down significant criminal sentences for such acts in the past. The FBI and the MPAA also are actively investigating this crime. We are encouraged by the support of fansites condemning this illegal posting and pointing out that such theft undermines the enormous efforts of the filmmakers and actors, and above all, hurts the fans of the film."

Indiana Jones TKoCS

it starts ok, but ends…..ridiculous

just a piece of personal opinion, for price<£5, it’s stil worth it.

the Starring:
Harrison Ford
Cate Blanchett
Karen Allen
Shia LaBeouf
Ray Winstone
John Hurt
Jim Broadbent

well, Harry’s always the best, undoubtedly. This guy, Shia, I wonder how long he has practised playing that knife. He’s cute — according to Nickie =.= Cate, i bet Michele would definitely fall in love with her. she’s his type.

like i said, it caught my eyes at the beginning. and to be honest the story flows not bad until the end. it’s just, reminded me of National treasure 2, too adventurous =.= such stories always ends with something surprising. and it was, ridiculously shocking.

it can be seen how important marketing is. it just made me spend £4.7 on what i would have not lol probably i’m gonna see Narnia 2 as well. i can only hope it doesn’t make me feel like being deceived….too much….
